Where did summer go?

Jeez...this is getting ridiculous! Last week 90's...this week the mid-70's and cloudy with rain looming over us! Well, at least the humidity is gone and the windows are now open!

Finally scrapped last night!

I used the amazing June Kit, Mayberry from Freehand Scraps! The kit has some fun paper from Crate Paper and Mind's Eye AND an awesome "House" cloth embellishment made by Prima.

I just love my home...we live on 1.5 acres out in the country for the past 15 years! Home is definitely "where the heart is!"

I'm sure you've noticed that I like to change my blog look often! Just like to freshen it up! I use 2 sites that give away free blog backrounds and extras....check them out...I just love them... Hot Bliggity Blog, The Cutest Blog on the Block and Shabby Blogs!

Ahhhhhh....Summer LOVE.....
This summer is a "teen-dating" learning experience for hubbie and me! Our oldest (soon to be 18 yrs old) Justin, has a steady girlfriend...Alex and Justin have been friends for the past 3 years of HS! She is a wonderful young lady!

But for hubbie and I, it's a whole new set of rules, curfew issues and teen "horny hormones" that as parents we haven't had to deal with before......and also having to get use to Justin being gone more than home...we miss him! But I do have to say, he is following the curfew rules and is pretty trustworthy...I can honestly say that he doesn't drink and is a really nice young man! BUT...OMG...the making-out moments in the pool, hot-tub, hammock, basement is so WEIRD...especially when we walk in on them......................UGH!

Chillin out...

....in the air-conditioning most of the day! It's just way too stiffling out...90 degrees & such ridiculous humidity!

Did some scrappin last night at the Scrappy Cat! Yahoo! Got a really cool page done using the June Kit at Studio Calico and inspiration from a scrappin site...OLW!

I found this wonderful site...OLW...One Little Word! The name says it all...It's a place to reflect on and celebrate the power of WORDS. Every other week the Creative Team will bring you awesome pages and projects focused on One Little Word to inspire you. They encourage you to take the plunge and create along with them! Summer Fun!

Lauren has been enjoying her summer so far! Best part....spending time in the pool/hot tub with friends !!!

Hope it's a wonderful Father's Day for all! Both my Dad and father-in-all have since passed away...we both miss our Dad's dearly!

As for Michael...he is an amazing father! The kids absolutely adore him! The boys, Justin and Connor took him out to lunch today and Lauren plans on taking him out to dinner later! For now...he is "snoring" on the couch with the Cubs game on in the background....what more can you ask for!

I plan on scrapping a bit later.....have a wonderful day and thanks for checkin out all my "Bolognie"!

Friday's Funny..........WARNING...........It's a bit "crude" BUT hey, I think it's pretty funny and TRUE! (Please don't take away my AWARD after this!!!!!)

Humid as Heck!

Man oh man the humidity is nasty! We couldn't take it anymore...had to finally turn on the AC!

I scrapped with my "scrappin girlfriends" last night! Wednesday night at the Scrappy Cat is always so much fun....and I actually got a layout completed!

I finished a sketch for the June Sketch Challenge over at Paper Popsicles. I love the monthly Kits that Melissa puts together at Paper Popsicles...she offers 1 main kit for $25.00, 2 different Mini Kits for $12.50 each and a Card Kit for $7.99! Amazing prices for Kits that are jam-packed with goodies!

Here's my take on Sketch #100...................................

This handsome dude is my middle son, Connor...........Con is 15... (16 in Sept), he's funny, extremely smart, out-going, gentle-hearted, impulsive, loving, creative, a dare-devil, loves the camera, sensitive, giving and of course a pain-in-the-butt! But I adore this boy!

This is hands down my favorite layout.....I love how it turned out! I used the amazing Studio Calico kit, Playground...Sassafrass Lass embellishments & Studio Calico paper!

Rainy Saturday...

Yep it's raining again...UGH!

I spent last night scrapping with my daughter, Lauren...it's so fun to share the passion of scrapbooking with her! I'll post her beautiful Friendship book later that she made for her best friend Maggie!

Took some pics yesterday of my flower gardens in the backyard and our pond... Have a great DRY weekend! Thanks for checking out all my bolognie!

Almost forgot....

.....to post my DT Layout for Sketches! {by tamara}. Just one more sketch week left and Tamara is taking a well-deserved summer off!

I used the gorgeous Basic Grey, Lime Rickey papers and embellishments! I just love these colors!The top photo is from an advertisement online...My dear friend Shelly and I always kid about how we'll still be friends when we're in our 80's...going out to lunch wearing our support stockings and babushkas!!!!!

Shelly and I have been friends for at least 10 years! We have such a special bond...kindred spirits.

Last year Shelly fought the toughest battle of her life...actually she fought FOR her life, breast cancer. Without hesitation, I fought that battle along side her and WE WON! She is an amazing lady...beautiful(especially when she was bald!), strong, stubborn, compassionate, smart, a smart-ass, funny, gutsy, loving and CANCER-FREE! I wouldn't have her any other way! I am blessed to have her in my life and thank God everyday that she is! Love ya Shelly!

Gardening

Did some gardening today...darn weeds!

But I still love this time of year because all my perrennials are starting to bloom. Every year I seem to get a MYSTERY "plant" blooming amongst the ones I planted....it's so amazing how the birds digestive system or the pollination of bees seem to help out my gardens!

Here's a few pics of this weeks blooming flowers...such brilliant colors!

This is Evening Primrose...during the day the flowers open to show this gorgeous yellow and then once evening comes, they close up tight and reveal their bright red covering...so cool!

And the mystery flower of the summer is...........................? Does anyone know this plant? I never planted it but here it blooms...it has beautiful blueish-purple flowers!

......Oh how I wish for one of those!
Just have a few seconds to post and then I am off to a 60th birthday party, then back home by 3pm so I can pick up Lauren's friends and take them to a movie...UGH, they are making me sit through a Will Farrell movie, "Land of the Lost"...UGH!
